Check an RBQ licence

Type the company name, its licence number (e.g. 5784-9655-01) or its NEQ.

What to check before you sign

  1. The licence is active and covers the type of work. A general contractor doesn’t necessarily hold the roofing subclass: check the subclasses.
  2. No restriction is on file. A restriction can limit the right to take certain contracts.
  3. For electrical and plumbing work, the licence is issued by the CMEQ or the CMMTQ: you can check with them too.
  4. The name on the quote matches the registry. Be wary of a licence number tied to a different name.
